Mt. Lebanon Foundation for Education
Grants Program
The mission of the Foundation is to promote and support innovative and challenging learning experiences for Mt. Lebanon students. The way we do this best is through our Expanding the Boundaries of Learning grants. These grants provide the resources teachers need to experiment with new teaching, technology, and other educational tools.
The Foundation invites all teachers in the Mt. Lebanon public schools to apply for a grant to fund an innovative program. A PTA member or a parent may submit a grant proposal by establishing a partnership with school district teachers and administrators.
MLFE is not currently accepting grant applications. Please check back for updates on future application deadlines.
Anyone interested in applying for a grant should first send a brief description, or grant prospectus, of your project to mlfe@mlfe.org. Tracy Srail, Administrative Manager, will review each grant prospectus to ensure that it addresses the mission of MLFE and meets the guidelines of the Program Committee (see below). If your proposed project meets these criteria, you will be invited to submit an application which will be reviewed by the MLFE Program Committee.
Grant Guidelines
- MLFE grants must be beyond the current scope of what the district supports or the curriculum requires.
- Funds cannot be used to supplant that which the district already offers, i.e. books.
- MLFE does not award grants for field trips.
- Technology requests must fit with the district's technology plan.
- Projects must support and expand the current curriculum, but do not take it in other directions.
- Projects should be sustainable beyond the intial grant period unless it is an approved pilot project.
If you have questions about your proposed project, please contact Tracy Srail at mlfe@mlfe.org or 412.478.7743.
